Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Millwright Mechanic will be responsible for all aspects of machine maintenance and repair. Responsibilities include assembling, installing and adjusting machinery and equipment, including conveyors, pumps, compressors, and heat exchangers, automated and robotic systems.
The successful candidate must work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.
•    Apply technical skills to perform troubleshooting on numerous types of machinery and equipment in the Production department
•    Inspect, adjust, repair, replace, modify, install, assemble, disassemble, move, align, level, maintain, set-up, lubricate, overhaul, improve, and analyze mechanical problems; provide quick solutions and repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
•    Perform inspections, preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance WO on all production equipment within an acceptable time frame
•    Operate a mill, lathe, drill press, grinder, saws, hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, welding, cutting, and other machine shop and power tools
•    Perform Lock out-Tag out, follow all plant workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances
•    Fill out Part Requisition form, order needed parts/materials and assist in maintaining inventory of parts
•    Maintain a detailed and up to date log of all activities in Daily Log Sheet
•    Communicate with co-workers and other trades; make decisions in emergency situations
•    Maintain a clean work  area and equipment at the end of the shift
•    Perform all other tasks that may be reasonably assigned
•    Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working as an Industrial Mechanic in a Production, Packaging and/or Processing environment
•    Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification is required
•    Able to read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
•    Excellent knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical processes
•    Extensive hands-on and working knowledge of: packaging machines, chain and belt conveyors, case sealers, performers and printers
•    Working experience and familiar with WHMIS, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and HACCP/SQF Audits
•    Excellent communication, problem solving and decision making skills
•    Work well in a team environment and a desire to learn new tasks every day
•    Good organizational skills and the ability to work well with minimal supervision
•    Must be able to work any shift as business needs and required
