Scope of the Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the team is performing at a level that supports achieving and improving business results. Organizes and supervises daily activities in production and packaging based on the daily production schedule and following Employee Safety, Food Safety, Quality and GMP policies and procedures. The successful candidate must have proven organizational and time management skills.

 

More Specific Responsibilities include:

 

  • Supervise, train, and mentor production team members to ensure they meet performance and quality standards
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, team empowerment, and continuous improvements
  • Schedule and assign tasks to production team members to optimize workflow
  • Emphasize a proactive approach to process management, bridging gaps and ensuring efficiency
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust staffing as needed to meet production targets
  • Oversee the production process from start to finish
  • Prioritize problem solving, committing to addressing challenges with a forward-looking perspective
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety by proactively identifying and addressing potential hazards. Conduct comprehensive investigations of incidents or near misses, ensuring a prompt and effective response
  • Ensuring that employees understand and follow procedures outlined by our Safety and Quality Systems, including conducting safety-talks and training
  • Provide regular performance feedback to production team members and identify areas of improvement and embrace weaknesses as opportunities for growth, with a focus on diagnosing and addressing challenges
  • Adopt a process-driven approach, taking the time to teach, elevate, and engage in thoughtful conversations to understand and resolve issues
  • Demonstrate agility in utilizing technology effectively and take ownership in driving its implementation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

shift Time:

  • 11:00 PM-7:00 AM

 

 Must haves:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field such as science, engineering or business is preferred
  • Possess strong Excel skills and adaptability to various technologies, including laptops, scanners, and digital displays.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience leading line teams, preferably in a food manufacturing environment
  • Lean certification or a minimum of 2 years of related experience 
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and leadership ability as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.
