Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

Accountable for repairing equipment, machinery and fixing building maintenance issues. Fabricates parts and components for projects and repairs as needed. Ensures the operation of plant is consistent during the Swing shift. Swing shift schedule is Monday - Thursday 5:00 pm - 3:30 am.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·Perform repairs to machinery/equipment as needed.
·Must know how to troubleshoot and test AC/DC motors, motor starters, various sensors and electrical circuits.
·Must have working knowledge of PLC’s, programmable relays and general automation.
·Must have experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
·Ability to conform to Covid-19 safety requirements.
·Must have basic computer skills and previous experience with Maintenance Software.
·Perform preventive maintenance on machinery/equipment and the building systems.
·Build fixtures, jigs, carts and other miscellaneous items to support production needs.
·Maintains a working understanding of plant production process equipment, systems and facilities in order to perform maintenance effectively.
·Works in collaboration with engineering, tool and die, production management, supervisors and utilizes external expertise as needed.
·Bends and cuts conduit and wire. Drills holes in walls, floors and ceilings for electrical connections as needed.
·Connects wires to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replaces switches and fuses, and splices wire as needed in normal course of job.
·Bends, cuts and threads pipe as needed for installation of plumbing, pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
·Operates industrial lift truck as needed in the course of repair work.
·Respond to emergency situations during and after work hours.
Must have the ability to work well with others with little supervision. Must be self-motivated, with high energy, an engaging level of enthusiasm, and tremendous integrity and work ethic. Ability to utilize Lean tools to continually improve processes. Must perform all job duties in a safe manner, adhering to the safety rules, regulations, and standards of Glen Dimplex Americas.
In addition to the job duties as listed above, GD Americas may require you to perform the duties of other persons or require you to perform additional duties from time to time. You shall perform your duties faithfully and to the best of your abilities and shall devote your time and attention to the business of GD Americas.

The Maintenance team is responsible for maintaining 6S discipline in the Maintenance shop as well as on the production floor when finished with a repair. This position is expected to participate in the continuous improvement of our processes and products, to sign up for Kaizen events, attend Lean training when offered, and to share observations and suggestions for improvement.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
· 5+ years of experience as a maintenance technician working with and around equipment. To be able to repair a machine the technician needs to fully understand how the machine operates.
