Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing & Process Development and working closely with Marketing, Engineering and Product Management teams, the NPD Project Manager will provide leadership and proposals for the advancement of our new product development.  We are seeking a well-organized, collaborative Project Manager to define and execute a product plan that will achieve our marketing objective of becoming the brand of choice among Residential, Commercial and Industrial users across North America.  The successful candidate will use their prior project management experience to steer new products from ideation to market introduction by leading a cross functional team of technical resources through the New Product Development (NPD) process.   




  • The project management of assigned new product development programs.

  • Have ultimate program timing responsibility through all phases of the development process. 

  • Works with the cross functional team members to prioritize tasks and assess resources to develop countermeasures to mitigate delays and risks that may negatively impact deliverables.

  • Manage to ensure project progress is on track to achieve deliverables as set out in the project statement of work and business case.

  • Leads NPD program status reviews to ensure measure of success metrics related to product cost, performance, quality and timing expectations are fulfilled.

New Product Development

    • Lead the execution of all new product initiatives through all phases in partnership with the assigned cross functional team. 

    • Ensure the “business case” for all new products is defined and documented through the Product Development Process. Market Knowledge and Competitive Analysis 

    • Understand and communicate the market dynamics in each category.

    • Utilize the competitive analysis and other tools to become an expert on all key competitive products and in combination with product management teams participates in the recommendation of a product strategy to compete in those segments.

       Product Knowledge

    • Support and improve the knowledge base within the company.  Ensure accuracy of all information throughout the NPD process.


 Sales Support

    • Work collaboratively with Sales to understand customer requirements, opportunities in the marketplace and issues regarding Glen Dimplex products.

  Financial Analysis and Project Viability

    • Participates in Product Management activities in the development of  the business case for assigned NPD projects.

    • Report out on the financial status of the project as compared to the commitments as stated in the project “business case” document.

    • Track product cost “creep” during the development process and ensure new products are launched within cost targets.

  Expense Management

    • Develop and manage budgets for all new product initiatives.

  Business Processes

    • Participate in IBP PMR process as required by Facilitator or Process Lead

    • Work collaboratively with peers and Supervisor to continuously improve the NPD management process, tools, and reports.




  • University Degree in Marketing and/or Business Management

  • Five (5) or more years’ experience in a Project Management capacity

  • Strong technical skills and understanding, including a working knowledge of the engineering process for designing electrical heat products

  • Strong writing and presentation skills

  • Capable of maintaining motivation and determination with little to no supervision

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously

  • Strong and flexible organizational skills to meet changing demands and priorities

  • Strong skills in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

  • Strong Project Management skills including knowledge of Microsoft Project 2010

  • PMP certification or similar as asset but no required
