Receiving and Inventory Specialist
Fresh Prep is a fast growing Vancouver company that makes it easy to cook incredible meals in just 30 minutes. We do this by sourcing local ingredients for delicious recipes, which are then prepared and delivered to customers homes in reusable cooler bags. In 2018, we were recognized by the Georgia Straight as Vancouver’s #1 meal kit.
Please note, the successful candidate’s duties would include, but not be limited to the following:
Support Purchasing Manager in initiatives to meet cost/quality targets and maintain/improve supply chain.
Execute the purchasing strategy led by Purchasing Manager to ensure ingredients are delivered; on time, in their entirety and of optimum quality to the Production Team.
Sourcing of ingredients, alternative/secondary suppliers and inter-department coordination to ensure the recipes are sent to customers as intended by Recipe Developers.
Purchase general and specialized materials for use or for further processing by Fresh Prep.
Establish logistics of delivery schedules, monitor progress and contact clients and suppliers to resolve problems.
Facilitates the execution of inventory counts, particularly during weekly and monthly counts.
Unloading, inspection and signing off on deliveries to ensure they comply with Fresh Prep’s quality standards in terms of quantity, quality, packaging, storage,
Reconcile packaging lists against Purchase Orders provided by Purchasing Team and complete Receiving Log to inform of discrepancies for further follow up.
Correctly label, organize, and store products in accordance with Fresh Prep allergen and storage guidelines.
Handle onsite driving deliveries and pickups where necessary.
Optimize product utilization through inventory organization and FIFO practices.
Maintain inventory lists and complete on site inventory checks as needed and requested by Production and Purchasing.
Other tasks assigned to support Purchasing, Quality Assurance and Production departments.
Solid knowledge of Fresh Prep business operations and requirements
Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
High school diploma/GED.
Valid Class 5 BC Drivers License.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Good understanding of warehouse safety regulations.
Basic math skills.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50lb boxes.
