Junior Project Engineer and Programmer (8 month contract)

Fresh Prep is a fast-growing Vancouver company that makes it easy to cook incredible meals in just 15-30 minutes. We do this by sourcing local ingredients for delicious recipes, which are then prepared in our production facilities in East Vancouver and delivered to customers homes in reusable cooler bags. What You'll Be Doing
Design, analysis, programming, and building components to integrate with production machines
Test programming and configurations of the new systems built
You will assist the engineering team with setting up equipment for pilot runs and machine operation/maintenance.
You will be responsible for the Project Management
and completion of paperwork including, projects, budget,
status reports, timesheets, and required engineering documentation
You will follow and complete equipment work
instructions for various equipment while testing and ensuring a
high quality of work for all documentation released.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What We Are Looking For
Technician diploma / Engineering student (Mechatronics preferred)
Programming for SCADA systems
Experience with IEC 61131-3
Programming languages for PLC controllers (ex. Allen Bradley)
Ability to wire, crimp, and solder prototype electronics in a safe and efficient manner
Comfortable working with Excel, Solid Works and learning new software
Able to work in a high-paced environment with strict deadlines.
Comfortable occasionally working in a temperature controlled environment. The warehouse is kept at between 0 to 10 degrees Celsius
Experience with Industrial communications systems an asset
Ability to push, pull, squat, bend, and reach above and below shoulders; repetitive use of hands
