Responsibilities:

 

As a key member of the Finance team, the Summer Student Accounting Assistant will work out of our head office on 6080 Young Street, Halifax, NS. The Summer Student Accounting Assistant will be responsible for preparing of payments and continual bank reconciliation, confirming electronic banking files, completing and verifying data entry (payment posting/account adjustments/invoices) to various billing systems, reporting cash flow on a daily basis, electronic mail processing, providing information to support our internal and external customers, and support other ad hoc activities as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education concentrated in Accounting considered an asset.
  • Prior Accounts Payable position or similar role considered an asset.
  • Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles relating to Accounts Payable.
  • Previous accounting experience within the cable/telecommunication industry preferred.
  • Fluency in spreadsheet applications – Microsoft Excel (advanced user preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi task and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to follow established policies & procedures with a strong attention to detail.
  • Flexible with a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Desire to work in a positive and dynamic team environment.
