Managing a spectrum of Point of Sale systems, inventory, and leveraging state-of-the-art accounting software, this role offers a holistic view of the entire operational landscape.

Reports to: Controller

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Spearhead and nurture a high-performance team, ensuring the completion of accurate and timely daily reporting. Cultivate a deep understanding of business units while overseeing critical monthly processes, including bank reconciliations, Franchise payments & Reporting, Harmonized Sales Tax & Corporate Tax installments.
  • Precision in Reconciliation: Meticulously reconcile Balance Sheet accounts to maintain financial accuracy and integrity.
  • Business Partnership: Establish yourself as a trusted business partner, providing operations with timely, insightful financial information crucial for informed decision-making.
  • Internal Controls Champion: Uphold a culture of compliance with internal controls, actively recommending enhancements to existing policies and procedures.
  • Budgeting Expertise: Play a pivotal role in the preparation of the annual budget, contributing your financial acumen to shape organizational fiscal strategies.
  • Year-End Excellence: Contribute significantly to the year-end process, crafting impeccable financial statements, notes, and supporting documentation.
  • Financial Analysis: Offer robust financial analysis to support operational and financial objectives, driving strategic decision-making.
  • Innovative Support: Collaborate closely with the Controller on various accounting activities and special projects, including the integration of new technology, process improvements, and the oversight of newly created operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University or College graduate with a major in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related equivalent work experience. Full cycle accounting experience is considered an asset.
  • CPA designation or actively working towards it is considered a significant asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, showcasing advanced expertise in MS Excel.
  • Proactive Mindset: Detail-oriented, analytical thinker, and problem solver with a proactive approach to taking initiative.
  • Organizational Excellence: Exhibit excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strategic Proximity: Preferred for the ideal candidate to be located within a reasonable commutable distance.
