Job Summary
To provide the day-to-day general cleaning of the following facilities, washrooms, locker rooms, office, cafeterias, boardrooms and Executive offices
Primary Responsibilities
- Clean offices, washrooms, locker rooms, office, cafeterias, boardrooms and Executive offices
- Vacuum, clean: toilets, sinks, countertops and tables, restock supplies, wash and dry mop floors and dust offices
- Remove garbage, cardboard, and secure paper recycling
- Restock supplies in lunchrooms and servery – cups, creamers, napkins, coffee, sugar, and tea
- Clean glass doors and turnstiles as required
- Report any environmental or health and safety issues when required
- Complete additional daily tasks as assigned by Supervisor or designate and ensure compliance with daily check sheets provided
Additional responsibilities may include:
- “Smock Duty” – Northern Uniform – File, record, and follow up ordered smocks for new hires, existing, and exiting employees on a weekly basis
- Point of contact for Northern Uniform
- Review invoices received from Northern Uniform for correctness and forward to Accounts payable for payment
- Order kitchen and cleaning supplies
Secondary Responsibilities
- Clean plant when required
- Escort visitors when required
- Provide backup for vacations of other Facility Staff
- Assist Executive Assistants, and Executives with meeting setup and clean up
- All other duties as assigned
- Perform work with a strong bias for team effort at all times
- Maintain a high degree of flexibility and be approachable
- Comply with G&D Environmental, Health & Safety policies, procedures and report any Environmental, Health & Safety hazards, incidents and concerns to the immediate supervisor/manager. Management will ensure employees are provided with job specific Environmental, Health & Safety information, training and also ensure employees follow workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications, Experience and Educational Requirements
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years cleaning experience preferred
Skills & Competencies:
- Able to interpret and comprehend information and direction
- Able to multi-task and be organized
- Good oral and written skills
- Able to apply general common sense and courtesy
Education:
- High School Diploma is preferred
Working Conditions
- Position requires cleaner to rotate shifts and to work overtime when required
- Other duties as assigned
- Cope with ongoing variety of workload and conditions
- Respond to all intercom pages within 5 minutes
- Exposure to sensitive material, must maintain confidentiality
- Maintain a positive attitude
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Exposure to heat and cold required
- Work indoors and outdoors is a requirement in all weather conditions
- Safety shoes and uniform required on production floor
Physical Requirements
· May be required to lift up to 50 lbs
